In 2016, he starred in his first historical drama, Love in the Moonlight, which achieved a peak viewership rating of 23.8% and topped Gallup Korea’s monthly favorite program polls multiple times, earning him numerous accolades. In 2025, he starred in the Netflix original series When Life Gives You Tangerines. The series became a global sensation, remaining on the Gallup Korea charts for six consecutive months and garnering multiple nominations at prestigious ceremonies such as the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Blue Dragon Series Awards.
